Lineage for a summary of lineage contribution made by
the Leicestershire and Derbyshire Yeomanry (Prince Albert’s
Own) R.A.C. ( The Royals Anglians made strange bed fellows
to the Yeomanry and vice versa……. But be assured
that the Yeomanry upheld its traditions and kept its Guidon
& insignia throughout this period until re-joining the
RAC as a Squadron in the ranks of the Royal Yeomanry in 1992
and to this day.

5 (Hertfordshire).
1978 2 Company at Lincoln redesignated as 'B' Company 7th
Battalion; new 2 (Northamptonshire) Company formed at Wellingborough,
Rushden and Corby by transfer of 'C' Company 7th Battalion.
5 Company subtitled "Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire".
4 Company at Leicester transferred to 7th Battalion.
1985: 1 Company at Lowestoft transferred as 'C' Company 6th
Battalion; new 1 (Essex) Company formed at Basildon and Braintree

at Brentwood and Braintree bby amalgamation of 1 and 3 Company
5th Battalion, less Colchester platoon. 22 May 1993 company
located at Chelmsford.
October 1992: Late 'B' (Bedfordshire) Company at Bedford and
Dunstable reformed as 1 Company 5th Battalion, less Dunstable
platoon which amalgamated with 4 Company 5th Battalion to
form 'B' Company 7th Battalion.
'D' Company redesignated as 2 (Cambridgeshire) Company 5th
Battalion.
1 April 1996: 'B' Company reroled as 202 (Ipswich) Squadron
158 Transport Regiment Royal Logistic Corps (see 5th Battalion).
'D' (Cambridgeshire) Company reformed at Cambridge and Wisbech
by transfer 2 Company 5th Battalion.
Later, but certainly by October 1998: 'D' Company redesignated
as 'A' Company; 'A' Company redesignated as 'B' Company.
1 July 1999: Battalion disbanded as result of the Strategic
Defence Review.
