Review by Tony Hood - A Good War by Patrick Bishop.

A pleasure to read a war novel in which the Hero is not portrayed as a Rambo-esque or stiff upper lip type, but a quite unassuming Polish pilot seconded to a R.A.F fighter squadron during the early days of W.W.2. A subtle twist in the story finds our Hero with the special forces aiding a French Resistance Group on the eve of the Normandy Invasion. All in all, an enjoyable story and well written, it will keep you guessing until the last page. My only criticism is in the title 'A Good War' can any war be good?
