1922: 4th/7th Dragoon Guards formed by amalgamation of 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards and 7th Dragoon Guards (Princess Royal's)

1935: 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards

1938: Mechanised (last mounted parade 15 August 1938)

1939: transferred to Royal Armoured Corps

1940: cadre detatched to form 22nd Dragoons

1992: amalgamated with 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards to form The Royal Dragoon Guards
