1715: Humphrey Gore's Regiment of Dragoons, ranked as 10th Dragoons, also known until 1751 by the names of other colonels

1751: 10th Regiment of Dragoons

1783: 10th (Prince of Wales's Own) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons (named for the future King George IV).

1806: 10th ( Prince of Wales's Own) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons (Hussars)

1811: 10th (The Prince of Wales's Own) Royal Regiment of (Light) Dragoons (Hussars)

1861: 10th (The Prince of Wales's Own Royal) Hussars

1921: 10th Royal Hussars (Prince of Wales's Own)

1936: Mechanised

1939: Transferred to Royal Armoured Corps

1940: Cadre detached to form 23rd Hussars

1969: Amalgamated with 11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own) to form The Royal Hussars (Prince of Wales's Own)
